I'm a 36 year old librarian who loves to run, read, do yoga and hang out with my friends and family. I ran the 2008 & 2009 Boston Marathon for Team Eye & Ear to support the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Go Team Eye & Ear!

Looking for a Good Run?

For the past 3 years, Nick and I have participated in Boston's Run to Remember. It's a 5 mile or half marathon course that starts & finishes on Seaport Blvd in South Boston. The half marathon course takes you through downtown and along the Charles, and is a fun and scenic run. The race is extremely well-organized. There's a running Expo the day before the race where you can pick up your numbers & t-shirts, as well as discounted running gear. Also, after the race there is a TON of food- cookies, bagels, chips, juice, fruit, etc. Not bad for $50. It's sponsored by the Boston Police Department and Boston Police Runner's Club and "benefits Kids at Risk Programs throughout the City of Boston." Anyway, the point of this post is that registration is open and usually fills up, so if you're interested in running a fun race for a good cause, you should register soon. The only bad part is that they take photos of you while you're crossing the finish line, and 13 miles later- no one looks good. (See below.)
