Free Stuff

In an effort to create more space in our 2nd bedroom/office/nursery, I posted 2 items on Craigslist.com under the "Free Stuff" heading. This was Sunday night, and I received well over 100 emails regarding the dresser and bookshelf's availability. Last night, a nice man drove up from the South Shore and took our furniture to his daughter's post-collegiate apartment in Savin Hill (because why the hell does a 22 year-old need new furniture?! Try telling that to my wife!)
Rather than replying individually to all the other emails that inquired about the furniture, I decided to update the posting to indicate that the items were gone and tacked "SOLD!!" in front of the heading. (Yes, I know the items were free, but SOLD!! seemed like an unambiguous way of indicating the items were no longer available.) Since then I have received at least 15 new inquiries responding to the updated headline:

No, no they're not.

In this woman's case, a Smart car would suffice as there's nothing to carry. What part of SOLD!! don't people understand? In the end, I just deleted the post altogether so I wouldn't be tempted to respond to these nimrods.
