Looks like the Mormons & Simon Cowell are in agreement on this one
**Updated to add, the text in the box says: "why does God allow these tragedies to happen?"**
Since the photo in the ad seems to be missing, I can only assume that the Mormon's are referring to Taylor Hicks' vocal talents. Which, if you've heard him sing, can only be described as "tragic."

You know, I would have thought about donating to your cause Librarian but after reading your comment ( which did not make any sense) and saying something derogatory about a person because of an ad that just happened to be on that page, tells me volumes about what kind of person you are. You don't deserve any help from mankind !!!
Apparently Taylor Hicks has a stronger fan base than I thought!
I agree Anon! It will be a cold day in hell before I would ever contribute anything to such a hate-monger as this blogger. It must suck to be such a nasty bitch.
Appparently, you do not understand rolling ads on the internet! You paint yourself as this altruistic fundraising runner while you denigrate a singer and a religion! Perhaps you need a long look in the mirror! or just a little Indiscriminate Act of Kindness...

Let us know what you think after you listen.
As a Mormon, I feel compelled to say that I am very offended by your remarks here.
On the one hand you are asking for donations and on the other you are promoting hatred. You should be ashamed!
I just linked over from Universalhub and do not understand the other comments here. I do not see how this is hate mongering. (Unless Taylor Hicks is a Mormon?) The ad placement makes it seem that Taylor Hicks is a tragedy... if there is any angry comments being made they should be directed at the boston.com webmaster.
I love the sweet Christians who leave such hateful comments. Please refer to your own bible and scripture and love the sinner, hate the sin. Anyone posting such nasty comments is even MORE at fault that this blogger!!
hey librarian - i think it's funny what you wrote! i see the humor - you're not mocking religion or mormons. it's funny to have even a whole religion, the mormons, find taylor hicks voice to be a tragedy. the placement of the ad is priceless, especially if you think taylor hicks sucks. and i agree, i do think he's on his knees most of the time... LoL for the numbnuts.
Wow! These comments are extremely entertaining. I thought that they gave away senses of humor for free?
Also, I very much like the "I would have thought about donating" comment - sure, the WHOLE internet believes that got2trot just lost a dime there... riiiiiigggghhhht.
And where, oh commenters is the hatred that you speak of? Joking derision maybe, but do you think that Mr. Hicks would turn to Ms. Librarian's face and call her a "nasty bitch"? Hmmm - seems a little dubious to me.
And sir or madam Mormon - "promoting hatred" is a tricky thing. I would choose, as a promoter of brotherly love and kindness, to scold a group of people who spend millions of dollars and organize huge political campaigns, under the guise of a religious group, to stop people who love eachother from getting married half a continent away as the haters over the blogger who chooses to poke fun at American Idol.
Further Sharon, I assure you that anyone running an ad-supported blog does, in fact, understand rolling advertising and is probably just pointing out a funny coincidence she saw on the internet. I refer you to the term "tongue in cheek".
Ok, I'm done. Ha!
There's nothing tragic about Taylor's voice. Maybe if people would stop bashing him long enough, they would remember that even Simon Cowell admitted on several occasions that he has a really good voice. Taylor is bashed and trashed 24/7 by any numbskull who can hide behind a keyboard. Do you enjoy being an internet bully?
Not sure exactly whom you're trying to slam here. Taylor Hicks or Mormon's? Or perhaps both? Not that it matters. It's only your opinion, for however much or little it's worth. Very little I'd say.
Well, there's a lot to be learned here; however, I'll keep most of it to myself. I will say that hopefully Taylor Hicks doesn't decide to use his powers for evil, because he has a whole bunch of followers eagerly waiting for their next set of instructions!
You rock Librarian. I guess reference humor doesn't resonate with everyone. Interesting that ANONYMOUS would post "any numbskull who can hide behind a keyboard." If you don't like this blog's content, then don't read it. So quick to judge, but two wrongs make a right, eh?
Mormon Anonymous, YOU should be ashamed for promoting censorship. And besides, just how are these remarks offensive?
Oh, man, this is the best set of comments EVER! How ridiculously overblown can it get?
Someone decides not to donate to your cause which will help others because they think you're prejudiced against someone. Yeah! That'll serve those folks trying to save their eyesight and hearing right for associating with the likes of you!
I'm a Christian, but it sure does pain me to admit it when folks like these self-identify as such.
It's funny, folks. It's humor. If God didn't want us to laugh, he wouldn't have allowed us to make mirrors. Please grow up.
